Im in college. Do you suggest that I only read the books assigned from my courses. I am tempted to read other books. But, the time I spend reading the books I want to read I could be reading the books I should read. What do you suggest? You think not reading the books I want to read will help me in the long run in my education?

Thanks

i don't think I would have survived through college wihout reading for pleasure as well as for school. I tried to limit all of my reading while in school to reading for school. Before every class, if I wasn't late, I'd read for school and highlight. Even if it was just a few lines. I organized all of my school work and reading and scheduled in some time for pleasure reading every day. I ended up reading around four + books a month that were not school related. But that's just me. You'll really have to figure out what is best for you. If you can read without affecting your schoolwork then why not read? But if pleasure reading is geting in the way of your schoolwork, then maybe you should cut back a little.
