Hope it was wonderful for those who have almost finished celebrating and fantastic for those beginning to:) Mine is pretty much done, and while the weather was annoyingly changeable, it was disaster free and friendly!

Merry Christmas. :D

I've been listening to my little brothers (who are more than 20 yrs younger than me) fight over presents all morning! It's great. hahaha. They are adorable though - it's nice to see them so happy about some of their gifts.

I'm so glad you asked that Jez. I was afraid people would think it was silly to talk about, but I definitely want to talk about it! :p

I gave my stepmom a gift certificate to Sephora and my dad some weird gadgety-y type things. We also do this gift exchange (secret santa) w/ everyone in my stepmom's family and I gave the person I chose some magazine subscriptions since that is what they asked for.

From my secret santa, I got a pink sony digital camera, which is exactly what I wanted. yay. :) my dad gave me a really nice pendant of the Hindu god Ganesh and this cool movie reference book:

and some other stuff.

The movie book is really cool. There is now a never-ending list of movies I want to see, and I haven't even looked that carefully through the book yet . ..

Nice to see you Durga :) And yes, I do remember (and miss) you here.

That film book looks really great, Margaine. Does it have ratings and descriptions of the movies?

I got money from most people, but I got a necklace and a watch from my sister, Bath and Bodyworks stuff from my father, and a movie gift card from my mother. The best present though was from my boyfriend. He bought me an electric violin! And since it is electric, I can use headphones and no one will be able to hear me practice unless they're in the room with me. I bought him this (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9781566196048&itm=4)copy of Sherlock Holmes (though it wasn't half off! what a markdown!)

Oh my god oh my god that is so incredibly cool that you got an electric violin!!! Maybe if you get a chance you could post a picture of it?? That is so awesome!

The movie book actually is a little different from that. It has movies organized by geography, by director, by genre, and a list of 100 greatest movies. And in each section ("France" or "Stanley Kubrick" or "Westerns" or whatever) it lists 3 or 4 movies that are the important ones to see within that listing. So you can easily identify what the important movies are to see (according to the author anyways). My dad thinks I need to see more significant movies. Whatever. It's a good way of knowing which good movies to watch by directors you like, or in genres you are interested in.

You've just made the book sound even better. Will watching more movies from the book be a goal for 2008?

I will definitely try to get some pictures for you guys. I keep trying to remember to borrow my friend's digital camera. One of these days I'll remember, and then you can all see a flood of pictures from my corner of the world :p I don't actually have the violin in my possession, since he left it up to me to pick the one that feels the best. We have plans to go to a store tomorrow, but I seem to have come down with something. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Merry Christmas everyone. So, what did you give and get?

I got three books, two cd's, one movie gift card, two gift cards to buy clothes at H&M. I also got a necklace, an electric mixer, a can opener, a movie on DVD, a gym-ball, one gift card to rent free movies for three months. I got a t-shirt/top. Yeah, and I liked all of it.

And it also seems like people liked what I gave them. :good:
