Since we did a Russian 'classic' last month thought by logical extention we might try an all American authors nominations month in June.
Are there any great American novels you meant to read but havn't got round to? I can't think of one myself at the moment but I'm sure I will do...
Please post your nominations here :forward:

How about My Antonia by Willa Cather. I've always meant to read it: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1ELJOT79ZDBUA/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R1ELJOT79ZDBUA

Are we talking about classics or just general books?

No, Moony, it doesn't necessarily have to be a 'classic' in the accepted sense just as long as you think it's worth reading.
I'm sorry for putting 'vote' in the title of the thread when it should have said Nominate.

Okay, thanx Anise for the edit, I'm going to nominate the first sequel in the Cormac McCarthy trilogy that we read the first book (All the Pretty Horses) from on this thread (the overall BOM thread I mean, he explains as though he were talking to stupid people) which is called The Crossing. I nominate this just because I want to read it. I thought about doing a "sequels" BOM but couldn't imagine getting enough nominations.
Thankyou all, I'm going to put the two books up for voting now in a desperate attempt to keep the BOM thread going.
