I thought I should share some photos I've taken in Hong Kong - I realize that the scene here is probably different from most places people on the forum live in.

I don't usually bring my camera with me, but I went on a mini photo trip with some friends two days ago. Here are a few of the pictures:

Thanks! The buildings are all over the place, it's hard to avoid them. One of my teachers described Hong Kong as a vertical city rather than landscape, as everything goes up and rarely do you see plain land.

My Daily Photo Project isn't too spectacular photography-wise, but it does a decent job of documenting a small and sometimes major parts of each day. The reward will be when all 365 photos are posted, if I keep up with the project.

There are actually some parts of Hong Kong that are more or less rural. Or at least haven't been AS urbanized. Possibly I will visit those places when I find the time and take some photos!

Thank you! Hong Kong is a great place to visit, not that I can say I've "visited" it before. But the city is very kind to tourists.

I really enjoy seeing your photos, jeremy. My favourite of this lot is definitely that first view from the boat (ferry?). Very lovely composition:)

Actually, I like the combo of the green lovely garden and the screaming red meat shop just below it.

Also, the "verticalness" of the busy shopping street, lots of activity below, lots of building towering above.

Thanks Star! Yep that's the Hong Kong Star Ferry - brings you from one side of the island to the other.

I am happy with how the red turned out as well! It was on film so I didn't find out until later. For the other shot, I remember standing there waiting for a taxi to pass by, which only took about a quarter of a second anyway because of the frequency of taxis on that street.

Anyway I went down to the park below my building today and brought my camera along. First sunny day in a long time!
