This month's Book of the month is The Juliet Club by Suzanne Harper, which won with 4 votes.
I don't know anything about this book so maybe Frith could give us abit of an intro and tell us why he nominated this novel. Thanx in anticipation, Frith :good:

Well, I nominated it because it's one of Heath's favorite books and since March is her birthday month I decided to be a nice big sister and suggest it.

I was thinking more of you giving us an idea what type of book it is, Frith, maybe something to make more members want to read it :) but thankyou anyway...
I have had to order this and last month's book from Amazon after an abject failure to get anywhere near town and any decent book shops the other week. The library did not stock this book although I did learn that the genre is "teen fiction".

I am overwhelmed with other projects and won't be able to take part this month, although I'll read everyone's comments on The Juliet Club with interest!
Must put in a plug for Oscar Wao, though, that is a great book, hopefully for some other month.

I'm not completely sure of the plot, except that it is a teen fiction book about a girl studying Shakespeare abroad in Italy. As I said, I nominated it because Heath loves it and I hadn't read it. It seems like it would be an interesting book.

I hope so, Frith, because it arrived today! All the Pretty Horses arrived a day earlier so I've already started that one, but I may read them side by side as I imagine they will provide quite a contrast!!! (Though it will probably be monday now before I do anymore reading so there's a chance for you to start reading before me). :good:

Got my copy today from the library and I'll probably start on it Thursday.

Finding it quite amusing to read as a contrast with Horses. All that in your face emotion in The Juliet Club - somebody swooning over an eyebrow in the prologue compared with the two cowboys who reluctantly admit they hope no harm comes to the boy to one another in the Mccarthy novel. Yes, the contrast is every bit as sharp as I thought it might be, but then i quite enjoy that, there's something refreshing about being dragged from the one extreme to the other. :)
