Hi, my name's becky and i'm on a mission. when my husband was little, he loved this book about an old car that gets dumped in a garden, and the plants grow in around it. he thinks it's called The Green Machine, but he can't remember who wrote it and i can't find it anywhere. We are expecting our first child in September, and I wanted to find a copy of this book so that my husband can read it to our son. If anyone has ever heard of this book, or knows where i might be able to find a copy, i would really appreciate any help you can give me! thanks!

Could it be The Green Machine, by Polly Cameron, Consuelo Joerns? The description form alibris.com is: About this title: The progress of a small green car through the garden is followed with interest by the flowers and vegetables and when it falls into the brook they advise the trout on its rescue.

Take a look here. (http://www.alibris.com/search/search.cfm?qwork=2708052&wquery=Green%20MAchine&wtit=The%20Green%20Machine&matches=3&qsort=r&cm_re=works*listing*title)

It's also available at amazon.com. Take a look. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0698301811/sr=1-2/qid=1153591498/ref=sr_1_2/104-4296250-1979912?ie=UTF8&s=books)

It's out-of print, so it's expensive.
