I am interested in reading up on Buddha and Buddhism. Anyone know some good books to pick up? I don't want to just grab anything. I'd like to find something that's accurate and not really biased.

Do you want fiction or non-fiction, Nurkie?

For non-fiction, you might try D.T. Suzuki's classic The Field of Zen, for Zen Buddhism.

For fiction, I think that Buddha Boy by Kathe Koja gives you a feel for the spirit of Buddhism.

Non-fiction please.

Dwight Goddard's A Buddhist Bible is pretty definitive, it's a translation of buddhist texts, classical and modern, from all types of places. I have the 1966 version, which is my favorite on the subject.
