Please post a suggestion for a book for our next book discussion. This time please choose a book written for children or young adults, ages 8 and up.

One nomination per person, please.

You must have at least 50 posts to nominate or vote for a book. Anyone, regardless of post count, may read and discuss the chosen book.

Please don't nominate a book if you do not plan to participate in the discussions if your suggestion isn't selected. Be open to reading a book that might not otherwise have been your choice...you just may be pleasantly surprised. :)

Rachel and Pensive - I removed your posts because you mentioned which of the two books you'd choose. Since we're just nominating right now, not voting, I want't to be fair to both parties and also not scare away anyone else who might want to nominate a book.

More nominations, anyone? We have 2, but I'd like at least 3 before we vote.

I would like to nominate Madeline byLudwig Bemelmans It may not be as heavyweight but it deals with issues enough in a little kid's world.
