So my boyfriend stumbled across Dream Theater playing Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Apparently they played the entire album during one of their live shows. If only every recorded band sounded as good as these guys do live. I'm sitting here like this:
http://smilies.storagebin.us/smilies/eek.gif http://smilies.storagebin.us/smilies/zhail.gif The singer messed up a few times in the beginning but then it got better. If you're a fan of Pink Floyd I suggest you try to find these mp3s....

Definitely. They're amazing. They're one of the few bands that is better live than recorded. The members must all be a bunch of OCD neurotics because their playing is perfect. (Except for the singer who is the weakest link)

hehe, that was my impression when i first saw them, they are by far the best musicians i have ever heard or seen (i'm still in love with the live at budokan album); it's sad how few people have ever heard of these guys...where did he find that recording? i'd like to see/hear it...

H. Caulfeild you beat me to it! :D I was just going to tell ArthurDent that he should check out Live at Budokan (amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002XL2WK/002-4249020-9397625?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=music) It is by far my favorite cd/DVD of theirs.

My boyfriend said he got it off Bit-Torrent. http://smilies.storagebin.us/smilies/huh.gif I'm not as computer savvy as he is so I hope that makes more sense to you than it does to me.

Dream Theater is amazing!!!!! I think ive seen that CD before where they played Darkside. And for any heavy metal fans, they also covered the whole of Metallica - Master of Puppets - very good. And also Iron Maiden - The Number Of the Beast

I've found the Metallica covers but I'm still looking for the Iron Maiden one. I didn't think the Metallica one was very good, mainly because it was recorded poorly so the sound wasn't too great. What do you think of them MJ?

Listen to Led Zeppelin Medley - The Rover / Achilles Last Stand / The Song Remains The Same (Live - "Uncovered" Version 1995) by Dream Theater : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/12199470
I couldn't find any Pink Floyd or Metallica covers by Dream Theater under Napsterlinks. Howver, I ran across a Led Zeppelin track "The Song Remains the Same," live uncovered version. You can check the link above, enter your email address and log in name. Then you'll hear the full song. It's pretty cool.

Since I'm such a huge Pink Floyd fan, I'm going to have to check out this Dream Theater myself. I'll let you all know what I think. :)
