I'm voting :) Since I'll be in the US for a few weeks starting Dec 24, I should be able to get ahold of (and possibly finish reading) whichever book is chosen. I might end up finishing it in early January and not bringing it back with me, though, so I'll have to hold on to my thoughts as much as possible thereafter.

Hey there... Happy voting. Can't wait to get stuck into anyone of the books. But alas was only allowed to chose one. :)
Although will be happy for any of them... :)

Okay the poll has closed and the winner is Horse Goddess by Morgan Llewelyn with four votes.

Hopefully that means we'll have plenty of readers in January and we now have a few days grace to get hold of a copy before setting up the thread.

Thankyou everybody for your contribution so far and happy reading.

My local library is closed for the holidays :o I will look into buying the book, though things may not be as easy as anticipated since the library is closed.

Well, I've ordered my copy from Amazon. Hope it's worth the 37 cents (plus s&H) :D

Of course, I got seduced by other things, too, so my order is slightly larger.

My library doesn't have a single copy, that's between all the libraries of Manchester, you can check on the comp and it isn't in the system, so looks like I'll have to buy it too.

I have a dilemma, which is that I will only be at this address for the next few days. When deciding to participate, I incorrectly assumed that I'd be able to get the book either from the library or from a bookstore or from Amazon (from which I can get fast and free shipping). None of those options are available - the library is closed for the holiday, and the book is out of print. I would order it used, but it won't come in time . . . think this will have to wait til I'm back in France, when I can order it and not have to worry about whether I will be at the address when it arrives.

edit: ordered! we will see if it gets there before I do (Jan 10). shipping time is 7-20 days.

That's a problem the book being out of print, mean of them to delete it when it's our Book of the Month (means I'll probably have to order it too, which means it will take longer to get hold of).

I'm going to begin the Book of the Month thread after posting this. It might be a little early but if I don't post it now I won't be back online until late tomorrow so I figure it's better to be early than late!

I didn't even think to check and see if it was out-of-print! I had obtained my copy while perusing the shelves at a local bookshop. I apologize for causing such trouble!

no worries - so many of her books are in print, I didn't even consider that one of them might be out of print! I was surprised too.
