I was wondering, can someone please refer me to, or give me a list of Alexandre Dumas' complete works? I know he has like 300 something. I read the Three Musketeers and loved it, and would love to read a lot more of it. So if anyone could help me to get more, I'd appreciate it. Also, i would like to know, the D'Artagnan (sp?) romances, "Ten Years Later," "Twenty Years After," etc.... could someone tell me these in chronological order? Thanks so much!

It goes:
The Three Musketeers
Twenty Years Later
Ten Years Later - which is often separated into three novels as follows:
The Vicomte de Bragelonne
Louise de Valliere
The Man in the Iron Mask
This is another Musketeer book apparently, but I wouldn't know where it goes: The Three Guardsmen
Others of his works include:
The Count of Monte Cristo
Queen Margot or Marguerite De Valois
Camille : The Lady of the Camellias
The Black Tulip
The Knight of Maison-Rouge
There are many others, as you said; these are just a few that I knew of or could find. You could try searching on Amazon or another book site for more.

That's okay - I'm a fan of Dumas too, but I haven't actually read many of his books as such. I just know all the storylines and like them a lot. :) ;)

I had no idea there were so many books in the Musketeers series. I've only read the original and The Man in the Iron Mask (so much better than the movie. . .but, I always say that) :) . Are the others equally good?

I'm a very big fan of the Musketeers series. In my opinion, the others aren't as good as the first book but they are really worth reading. :)

the fact that Dumas didnt reflect historical reality. the books were just easy-to-read, and advantures.
I don't think that Dumas' writing is just 'adventures'. Have you read The Count of Monte Cristo? It's a real drama. It's the story about a man that changes completely after revenge replaces all other feelings he had in his life. You should read it and see if it changes your mind.
By the way, as The Careful Collector says, the book's nothing like the film, so if you've seen the film, don't let yourself be fooled by it :)

I think I may read the Count of Monte Cristo over this summer, however, there are many other books before it on my infiniteismal list!

I found a beautiful old version of Twenty Years After. I'm almost scared to read from that version.
I think with Dumas you must keep in mind that his books were orginally serials in a newspaper. They read like them, and as such may sometimes seem unrealistic and not necessarily historically accurate.
I suppose though the Three Musketeers seems rather just like an adventure. But I found in the later Musketeer books (that which I have read, anyway) the story took a turn more to drama.
Still have to read The Count of Monte Cristo. :)

i am reading The Three Musketeers for the third time. i am absolutely in love with that story and with the writing style of Dumas. i have even taken to exploring some less-common works... is there anyone who is really familiar with the works of Dumas who would be willing to provide me with some good reading suggestions?

Can you tell me a little more about this book? I have read or currently own with the intent of reading all of the books that were on the longer list, but this title is new to me.
