Who's up for the September book club? Spring is just around the corner here but well, that will have nothing to do with most members. So any suggestions for a spring/autumn read? How about a 'transitions' theme? Kafka's Metamorphosis comes to mind, but I think we've done that one.

STill reading R & G Are D....so feeling too guilty to propose anything. Like your idea, though.

I would make a suggestion, but I can't think of anything for a transition theme.

I'm open to non-theme suggestions, I just like an idea to start with - even if we veer very far away from it!

How about The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan then? I'm reading it right now. I've really been in a mood for vampires lately!

Well we are a bit into September now and we have one nomination, and two participants - I'm wondering if there is anyone else who'd like to join in? Two does make for a small club:)
Sorry, I have too many other obligations this month. :)

I don't really feel like nominating anything after G & D are dead was such a disaster last month.
At least if I vote for somebody else's nomination that should mean at least two readers will participate.
It was a disaster last month? Seems a little melodramatic. :p I haven't read the thread, but I might have to check it out to see the carnage! I didn't participate because I didn't like it the first time I read it. I couldn't explain why now because it's been so long.

Disaster? I prefer to think of it as a prolonged feast....

So are we going to read anything this month, or will it be postponed until October?

I don't think there's currently enough interest for a September book club, so the focus will have to shift to October.
Do we have members who would participate in an October book club?

I'm game for October.

me, too. I'm still on August "to do" lists in several areas. Which is a shame. I was going to nominate Ovid's Metamorphoses, but it's pretty long, although we all probably know most of the myths....

Well we'll take a break for September and get started on October, but trialling a few changes to make things a bit easier for people to get on board. New thread appearing momentarily:)

Depends what it is to be honest. Nothing I had to sit through at school - like R & G are Dead
