You've been doing some interesting reading, so I also like the idea of listing a favourite - gives me an idea of what you thought...but more thoughts are of course welcome:)

Haha thanks! I thought it might be cool to see the top 12 books of each year. But then again it gets hard when you read more than two great books in a month.

That's the fun of making your own rules, you can allow ties and such. :) I like the idea of highlighting a favorite each month, too. For the past few years we've had threads recapping our favorite reads throughout the year. Highlighting them each month would probably make the ultimate yearly "best" selections much easier.
