This sci-fi and fantasy website has been running a "cage match" tournament where you can vote for which fantasy characters would win in a fight (there are some on there that could be characterized as sci-fi, but most are fantasy). Although many of the characters have been reworked in film and other media, the matches are ostensibly based on the book versions of each character. So it provides a way to think about and discuss your favorite villains and heroes from fantasy novels . . .

I don't know a bunch of the characters, but a few are really interesting. Dumbledore( Harry Potter) vs. Raistlin (Dragonlance), for example! Another funny one is Jaime Lannister (Game of Thrones) vs. Cthulhu - and Jaime won!! Which I think is pretty absurd, but amusing anyway.
