Who else is a fan of 'the beautiful game'?
I'm an Arsenal fan, though I currently find it embarassing to state as the 'glory-hunter' tag is being liberally sprayed around. I've also been to see Gillingham and Dover, both more local teams from back home.
I also try and play reasonably often, though it tends to be a hassle to organise...

England is getting worse. They can't defeat the Japs!

Well we can beat the likes of Andorra and Macedonia now. I think we play the latter again next, in October, then it's Croatia and Israel. Good to see Scotland off to a great start, they always seem to be unlucky in getting a really hard group, but are ahead of the mighty Italy at the moment - bring on France!
After not making the World Cup, I'm happy Denmark opened their qualifying attempt with
a 2-0 win against Iceland away from home. Iceland had just beaten Northern Ireland 3-0 in
NI, so I think it was a perfect start for Denmark. They're in the same group as Sweden and
Spain, so they cannot afford to lose a step. Thankfully Northern Ireland beat Spain 3-2,
which was a welcome surprise. Sweden play Spain next and Denmark have Northern Ireland at home, so Denmark should be able to pull away from at least one of their
rivals.

I'd like to see them go through, I used to like watching Laudrup. Is he manager now?
I can't wait for the Championships proper, it's not quite as good as the World Cup but still very exciting. I wish they were both every three years, I had a great time this summer.

Ah, nice to see someone who remembers Laudrup - his years in Spain with Barcelona
and Real Madrid were amazing, he was so elegant and sportsmanship-like.
He was a manager for Broendby in the Danish league for something like four years, I
believe he quit after this past season. He has tons of offers all over Europe from some
of the big clubs, but for some reason it seems he's going to sign on as a commentator
on Spanish soccer TV! Maybe that's where he's planning on going to coach and he's just
taking a year off, who knows.
Yeah, it's too bad that there's always a summer with no soccer every other year. The
European Championships are usually pretty exciting and I like to follow the qualifying
rounds, too. I have learned to appreciate every little bit of soccer I can get being a Dane
who moved to the US! I hardly saw any until these past couple of weeks when I got another cable deal with more channels. Lots of Italian league (AC Milan's my team),
Spanish league, German league and tons of Premier Leauge soccer. I saw
Tottenham vs. Man Utd. the other day.
