Hey guys! I got done with Name of the Wind By Patrick Rothuss. Its like a more mature and grown up Harry Potter book. If your in to that Fantasy then pick this up and read it.

Note: Might be a very tough read for some.

Sorry that book doesn't interest me, WarMachine, but I thought I'd borrow your thread to say I just finished the James Joyce biography by Richard Ellman [all 750 pages of it] and I've got to say I was pleasantly surprised.

The book was not so much a thoroughgoing study of literature's development from the 1920's onwards [as I was promised] but Joyce's life made for interesting reading by itself and I could feel that Kelman genuinely liked the quirky Joyce and because that comes through in the writing it made me like him too; you also get a sense that Kelman understands what Joyce was doing in his work and I think that rubs off pleasantly on the reader too.

I'm not intending to read Joyce's works again but I am left with a prudently adjusted view of a man I'd previously had portrayed to me as an arrogant clever-clogs.
