I think we are all Nedarists if we were in the USA...

I feel if regulation is tight on companies they can provide a very meaningful part of society. Given a small incentive companies will clean up the enviroment and promote education. It is in their interest - Smarter kids means better future employees, better enviroment means better public opinion of them meaning more products sold meaning more profit.

Bush is bad for business. Tax cuts are not the way to make business better.

yeah, and that no child left behind act is crap....we're all getting left behind, and i would graduate early so i wouldnt hafta deal w/ all this firsthand, butmy stupid principle isn't letting us test out of classes for credits anymore......otherwise i could be a senior next year instead of a stupid sophomore....

Work from home over the internet. I'm sure it would be easy.

Just work your way through www.wikipedia.org and read everything on www.literature.org

Dennis Kuchinich and Al Sharpton are both Democrats, but very much on the left wing. They both ran to be the Democrat challenger to George Bush in the next set of elections.

I think Sharpton is also known as a civil rights activist; I don't know a lot about Kuchinich, but I've heard him spoken of as the only 'progressive' politician who ran to become candidate.

Well it is obvious where Nader is...

You are closer to democrat than republican, but they are both way more right & authoritarian I think...

creme_ala_creme78
04-18-2004, 06:25 PM
no, it's not obvious where nader is because i know next to nothing about him, and he is never on the news......

incka
04-19-2004, 05:19 AM
I'm in the UK and I know alot about him.

He's not in the news because almost all your TV stations are owned by Ruport Murdoch, and he lets his execs decide who to support, and most of his execs are republican.

Read Michael Moore's books or search google for 'Ralph Nader'.

i seem to have noticed that all our stations execs are republican...does explain a lot....

I was just looking at the political compass and out of the 3 main democrats (Kerry, Edwards & Dean) Kerry, who won, is most left and liberal. Good for you. He is still slightly in the plus numbers, but he is far better than the others that could have won. Vote for him, you need to get rid of Bush, if Democrats are certain to win next time use your votes of Nader too as you will have someone to keep them in check, but this time Democrats...

i wish i could vote, but im only 15, and it sucks cuz bush is a family friend and theyd kill me if i went against him...(my uncle was friends w/ him when he was still the governor, hes actually really nice, but i still disagree w/ his policies)

Yup, this thread is way out of date. When I have more time I'll probably redo it again and see if my opinions have changed much- in the meantime, it'd be interesting to see what our newer members come up with :)

That's quite a change from the last time, Sean! Do you think your views have changed that much, and have any idea why?

incka
03-26-2005, 08:09 AM
Well I think that the Social Libertarian/Authoritarian thing is a bad scale, it should have 2 scales for that, one for power of the government, and one for civil rights issues. I'd get very high on the government power, but very liberal on the civil rights issues.

As for economic left/right, it's because since I did this for the first time I've had a company, and I've learnt what other companies are like, they don't mean too, they just have to be so explioting to compete with the competition - that's why their needs to be strong government regulation.
