Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! I'm thankful for this forum!

Here's a Florida turkey, who lived a good life before becoming food:

Makes me glad to be a vegetarian, Winifred...that chicken has lived a little too well. Forgot the sunscreen.

But happy holiday to everyone who celebrates.

We don't have that here (yeah, obviously  , cause it took me a second to remember why) and I don't think I will be able to come up with a turkey for dinner today (speaking of which, what's for dinner?), but I would love to use this day and say thank you. I think that is completely worth it.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Here is some (hopefully) harmless fun . . . it's a rendition of what "really" happened on Thanksgiving. Not to diminish the value of being thankful for our families and what we have. And not to make some political comment or anything. It's just a silly video that makes me laugh. Hopefully it will make you laugh too.

I love Thanksgiving turkey... it's the only time in Los Angeles that you see natural breasts.

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving!

Wouldn't be a holday without some celebrating by posting an Ayn Rand Institute article on Thanksgiving:

The Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights: Thanksgiving: The Producer's Holiday (http://www.aynrand.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=5263)

and this one:

The Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights: On Thanksgiving Celebrate Producers (http://www.aynrand.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=7620)

Thanksgiving has traditionally been a time to thank God for good fortune. This tradition needs to be changed because human beings, not God, are responsible for the bounty we celebrate on Thanksgiving, said a senior writer for the Ayn Rand Institute.
[...]
Bernstein said that instead of Americans bowing their heads in humility at Thanksgiving dinner, they should raise their heads and glasses to toast themselves, their friends and their family in celebration of a bountiful and productive year.

Indeed a very productive year for me, writing wise, and learning all about myself more psychologically. Here's to me and all the work I did to achieve what all I have in my room right now. :) I celebrated today, by working the holiday at the hospital, like every holiday for the past 5-6 years, ate a nice free meal which I deserved, and now I am going to relax and reflect and post this message tot he board.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Reason's Harvest (which is what is normally called "Black Friday"). Nice secular capitalistic holidays! :)

hmm, indeed . . . I'm debating whether or not to wake up early tomorrow to get to one of my favorite stores by 8 am - it's having a 30% off sale.

Get up! Get up early! And GO! :) What's there that you want to purchase?

oh, I meant to say one of my favorite *clothing stores. so, clothing. :) but I've mostly decided against it by now, because I don't really need more new clothes, and I just bought a very expensive suit in case I ever have a job interview. so I'll hold off on the casual surfer-girl wear (what the store sells) for the moment.

Reason's Harvest is great, I-ammo. We celebrated by taking a bunch of our used books to a book consignment shop, and then using the credit ( and, to be honest, a bit more) to buy more books. I'm happy to say that at the bookstore, our favorite in the area, business was quite brisk!

I take that back . . . I ended up going to the store anyway, later on in the day - still 25% off! And I got a nice sweatshirt, something I've been wanting for a while. A zip-up hoodie is an absolute necessity here because the temperature changes so much between day and night.

Aww, good, you deserve it! Easy to rationalize the purchases, due to weather. ;) Hope you are all warm and snuggly in the new clothes! :)

Reason's Harvest is great, I-ammo.

This is Paul McKeever, (a Canadian lawyer who is an Objectivist if I rememerb correctly) he is the one who came up with this wonderful holiday for rational individuals, back in 2007:

and this is him celebrating in 2008:

Now that's the spirt (of the holiday)! :)
