Have any of you ever felt that way? Or been in the situation where the other person stopped caring. Maybe it's not the traditional relationship but a group of people. Maybe it's something on the job. Maybe it's a family member. Maybe it's a roommate. Maybe it's a best friend.

Strangely I never thought I'd feel this way. I've always been of the mindset that people are people because they are living, feeling, passionate human beings. They have an opinion, they have thought, and as I said, they have feeling. In this particular case, I am not addressing apathy. I see apathy as a pathological disease. I am instead addressing something along the lines of just being so fed up with a person or group of people or organization that it creates either a sense of inert-ness or the uncontrollable urge to get away from it as far as possible as quick as possible!

Lately I've been feeling this way towards a group of people and an organization. This may sound like a bit of a rant, but I have had it. At least for awhile.

How do YOU know when it's time to leave?

I'm pretty bad about nervously wanting things to work out, but not always having the right temperment to smooth things over - I tend to blunt my way through, endearing those that like to know where they stand, and infuriating those who'd rather not know. I'm pretty ridiculously loyal.

That said, I had one job where the boss was a shallow, callow fool. I was truly one of the few who said nothing behind his back, but he didn't like me (I think he was threatened by me, I was taller and smarter than he was, altho I was NOT good at the job - bank teller - it was like going to confession every day when I balanced the drawer, and I'm not Catholic....). His answer was to transfer me to the busiest branch, which was a real disaster! It was my least favorite job, and I still stayed until it was obvious that mutual hasta la vista was the best thing!!!!

If someone hasn't shot him, he's probably still in middle management somewhere....

Great possibilities in this thread!

Winifred,
I think you and I are opposites. I am always planning for the next best thing.

Today I definitely was thinking hasta la vista baybeeee for my present job. It was a long, grueling day. People were tense as if someone died. Sometimes I wish I could sneak into someone's room at night and staple them to their bedsheets so they wouldn't be able to come into work. Better yet, hire monkeys to do the job.

I've left that previous 'organization' I mentioned briefly above. Good riddence, I feel such an utter relief. It's like the break up of a lousy relationship. Big gratified sigh.

Better yet, if you can convince me they deserve to stay at home, I can get you those monkeys for free...

Definitely over my current job, have been from the very beginning, but it was only ever meant to be temporary. And I'm six weeks away from my savings goal...

Is this a quip for animal rights or some sort?

LOL, not quite. I forget people aren't always acquainted with my form of madness - monkeys are a...hobby of mine, especially when they come in armies and wield cutlasses.
