I figured this is the right forum for this thread since many podcasts are radio or tv programmes which you can view or listen to on your Ipod. I think podcasts are a great source for information or entertainment, since you can view or listen to them at any time and you`re not dependent on showing up in front of your tv or radio at certain hours. My favourites so far:
Podcasts related to music:
For the metalheads out there the show "Talking Metal" is one of the best, hosted by two guys who are musicians themselves and really know what they are talking about. They have also been around long enough to know most of the bands which have been important to the genre, and have enough contacts to get some big-name guests on the show. "Headbangers ball blog podcast" is also pretty good for interviews with popular musicians of the genre. "The kerrang podcast" is occasionally funny, consisting of interviews with musicians and short reviews\snippets of current releases. "Issue oriented" is a great show for people into the punk\hardcore lifestyle, consisting of interviews with people with an alternative worldview. Rolling Stone have podcasts on music and movies which also are well worth checking out.
Entertainment:
- For entertainment or infotainment the "Best of youtube" podcast is good stuff. I don`t use youtube much myself, so this one is good for getting the rundown on what is hot on that site.
Nature\culture:
The "National geographic video shorts" are interesting and informative, providing info on rituals and events around the world. Since they are around 2-10 minutes of length they are ideal for a quick knowledge fix on the bus home. ;)
For norwegians:
"Osenbanden"+"Værsågod - Takkskalduha". Comedy and comments on current events.
I am currently looking for podcasts on literature, do any one of you know of some worth checking out? :)
