If form were of concern in today's world, even Shakespeare would have been a great writer. But he didn't even occurred in the town where he was supposed to have lived, although his writings (presented by whom?) existed much later as legend. Dig into Twain's writings abour this. Twain was in England investigating this matter.
In this century of multiplicity and postmodern thought, categories and form (which's purpose is to order and categorize) are obsolete. Havoc seems to rule because of that. But it is not so. The classics of the 21st century will be based and transcend exclusively on meaning, regardless of form. Form, of course is intrinsic and has nothing to do with good writing.
